The yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo

Located on the edge of the Kamay Botany Bay National Park, St Michals Golf Club is home to one of the rare species of Black Cockatoos.  The Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo are one of six species of black cockatoo in Australia, and is one of the largest native parrots. These uniquely Australian birds are spotted in small family groups, but tend to congregate in larger flocks during the breeding season, from March to August.

To celebrate these remarkable birds, the team at the St Michael's Pro Shop have launched a full range of golfing apparel and accessories featuring the black cockatoo logo, and the Crazy Arms crew were happy to join in the celebration.

Birds and golf don't always work well together.  When there's a murder of crows around, you know your golf ball might not be safe even in the middle of the fairway.  And having a lorikeet doing a fly past when you're in mid-swing almost guarantees a slice.  However, the black cockatoos, with their larrikin antics and screeching call like a rusty gate, always let you know they're there!
